Wanna try my vegan Ginataang Papaya recipe?

For me food is the big obsession of my life. So here's one of my favourite easy Bicolano food style.

Vegan Ginataang Papaya

2 Tbsp vegetable oil
1 cup coconut milk
½ cup coconut cream
8-10 cloves of garlic, crushed and roughly chopped
½ cup ginger, sliced
1 tsp black peppercorns
1 medium green papaya, thinly sliced
3 red chillies, sliced
2 Tbsp vegan fish sauce
Salt to taste
  • In a pan heat vegetable oil and sauté garlic, ginger and peppercorns, sauté until fragrance. Add the papaya in the pan.
  • Add the coconut milk, vegan fish sauce and chillies, cover and simmer 10 to 15 minutes or until papaya turns transparent. Add coconut cream and simmer for 5 minutes more. Add salt if needed.
  • May serves already at this point unless you want it thicker consistency, let it simmer on low heat for 5 more minutes. There you go your ginataang papaya is ready! Enjoy!
  • Garnish with bay leaf and crushed peppercorns.
  • Serve with steamed rice.
  • Makes 2 servings
